Job Searching is Exhausting
My project with Apple ended and now I'm on the market for a new and better position. By better, I mean more pay, more actual coding and more room for individual creativity. Apple is a great company and I learned a lot. Now, I feel I'm ready for more responsibility. I performed at a high level at Apple, working with some brilliant engineers, and I held my own. In fact, I excelled in some areas.
Of course, I couldn't have done it alone. Qi, who hired and trained me, as well as Lakshmi, who was my mentor, were invaluable. I'm really going to miss them. But it's for the best. The Apple executives started from the top down and in the blink of an eye, half our team was gone. It's never easy looking for a new job, but having Apple on my resume does make it a little easier.
Now, my main problem is the superfluous emails and calls I get from recruiters. It's a lot more to sort through. First world problems. What can I say? I'm just very thankful to be in this position and am excited about putting my best foot forward to land with a new company, and a new beginning. Life is good.
